Pandemonium at Clapham Common

Catriona plays flute for this collaborative project between artist/designer Christie Swallow and composer Jessica Roch, exploring how humans and parakeets might communicate in meaningful ways. Building on Christie’s work as Design Researcher in Residence at the Design Museum’s Future Observatory, Jessica has notated the repertoire of the London Ring-Neck Parakeet. This has been developed into an experimental composition for Flute, Violin, Soprano and synthesiser.

In this event, we will be bringing together both human and parakeet audiences. This is a recorded live performance at the bandstand on Clapham Common, which will then be exhibited at the Design Museum in the Artificial Show, Opening June 15th. Details are available here.
